Sandro Botticelli (1445 – 1510) was an important Florentine painter of the Early Renaissance also known as Quattrocentro. His real name was Alessandro di Mariano Filipep but with the time he changed his real name by Sandro Botticelli. Filippo Lippi and Andrea del Verrocchio were a big influence in Botticelli’s career, especially in the Renaissance painting. For example, Primavera and The Birth of Venus rank today among the most memorable masterpieces of Florentine art. Both works are tempera on panel.
